I write this on the eve of the New Moon in Taurus — a moment that feels like a true homecoming for me and my spirit. As a Taurus Rising, this new cycle stirs something deep in my bones: a desire for rootedness, simplicity, and tangible beauty. It feels like a big exhale, a beckoning back to center after a season of profound movement and change.
And if I’m being honest with myself, I’m ready to integrate everything the last few weeks have unearthed.
It’s been nearly a week since I returned from my time in Sayulita, Mexico — a place that has long served as a sanctuary for me, a place where clarity feels inevitable and my inner compass always seems to recalibrate. This trip, however, held a different kind of gravity. I went with a focused intention: to experience a true ritual of release and renewal by participating in my very first Temazcal ceremony — a traditional Mesoamerican sweat lodge ceremony.
The ceremony, which took place midway through my journey, became a portal. It demanded courage, surrender, and a willingness to let go of what no longer served me. As I emerged from that sacred lodge, I felt the deep, unmistakable sense of a door closing... and a new one creaking open.
I flew home on Easter Monday, feeling raw and reborn, my heart flooded with gratitude — and high on the list of those I was thankful for was Becky and the work of Autonomy Design (AD) I have dedicated myself to over the last few years.
The truth is: I didn’t walk into that Temazcal empty-handed.
The groundwork had been laid long before I boarded my flight south. My journey actually began in Kelowna, BC, where I had the chance to attend Becky’s Space Clearing Workshop at Essential Balance Collective alongside her elder, Kim. That afternoon opened something up for me.
The workshop ended up being an activation. A remembrance of my responsibility as a steward of space, energy, and self.
I left Kelowna with an assignment tucked in my heart: to start building my own medicine bag — a sacred toolkit to anchor my smudging practice and support my energetic sovereignty. And so, as I wandered the vibrant streets and markets of Sayulita, I did so on a living pilgrimage: selecting tools and medicines that whispered "yes" to my spirit. Tools that would eventually join my practice back home, enriched and informed by the foundational principles and tools from the E&e Library that I had been using alongside my mentorship.
The magic didn’t stop there.
On my very first day in Sayulita, I kept encountering the number 14 — on stickers, house numbers, license plates, T-shirts... until eventually, I remembered: Gift 14 lives in my Autonomy Design Chart.
I sent Becky a message, and she lovingly reminded me:
Generosity.
The gift that lives in the Energy Center of Connection.
In balance, Generosity is about giving from fullness, without depletion. It’s time, energy, wisdom, and presence offered in a way that uplifts not only others — but also ourselves.
Out of balance, it’s overgiving. Obligation. Self-sacrifice.
The signs were clear: This wasn’t a journey of martyrdom. It was one of reclamation. It was about offering what I had gathered from a place of true embodiment — not out of duty or exhaustion.
That’s the magic of working with your Autonomy Design Chart and mentorship: it equips you to read your own soul’s map in real time. To understand the subtle nudges. To recognize when you are moving in alignment with your design — and when you might need to come back to yourself.
In honor of this Taurus New Moon — and the fertile ground it offers for reflection and recalibration — I invite you to join me in asking yourself (use as prompts for journaling or for quiet reflection) :
